Interview He Yafei, Former Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China  My name is He Yafei, and I am currently pursuing an academic life, being a distinguished professor at Yenching Academy of Peking University. After the outbreak of coronavirus, or we call it COVID-19, under the leadership of CPC, with President Xi Jiping at its core, China quickly made a firm decision. That is the closure of Wuhan and Hubei and also quite severe and restrictive measures all over China.These measures are not without pains. They took a toll on normal lives of people in China, and in particular for people in Wuhan and Hubei. That is for the protection of lives, security and public health of the Chinese people and particularly, of course, for people in Wuhan and Hubei. In addition, they are also in the interests of the people of the world as large.
