In a dialogue with the CGTN about the Third Plenary Session, senior fellow Liu Zhiqin offers his opinions. First, He thinks that the socialist market economy is a complex concept, which includes mechanisms to market operation, the legal system and the market access and opening up. He also thinks that the socialist market economy is essential for China. He goes further with saying that continuous opening up is important, giving the example of recent free-visas policies of foreigners traveling to China.
