The book focused on a modern-day revival of China’s famed Silk Road, called the Belt and Road Initiative. This is a far-reaching concept of connectivity and cooperation among countries along the original Silk Road through Central Asia, West Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Based on extensive research, the book evaluates key trading cities and selects the Belt and Road pivot cities, or epicenters of international trade. It also suggests government actions to propel the initiative and offers directions and references for further research.
