Abstract:
This book systematically summarizes China’s brilliant achievements and great contributions to the international community in the intersection of economy, energy, ecological environment and climate change in the past 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the reform and opening up, and portrays the historical footprints of China’s gradual “moving towards the road to green development”, covering economic and social development, coal, oil and gas, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, ecological and environmental protection and climate action, etc., and analyzes Guangdong Province as a typical case study in the book. A number of domestic and international experts gathered to analyze and demonstrate from both Chinese and international perspectives on topics such as high-quality growth, low-carbon transformation, energy conservation, energy revolution, energy technology innovation, international energy cooperation in “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), green finance, and global energy governance, etc. In the context of the century change, the book also foresees China’s vision to achieve “carbon peak” and “carbon neutrality”, thus to complete high-quality development and green transformation for achieving the second centennial goal.
