On March 21-22, 2016,the second meeting of the G20 Green Finance Study Group (GFSG) was held in London, co-chaired by the People`s Bank of China and Bank of England, with support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as secretariat. The GFSG reviewed its initial findings in five areas of research, including greening the banking system, greening the bond market,greening institutional investment, risk analysis and measuring progress, and discussed country experiences, barriers to green financial flows and options to address the barriers. An outline was discussed and agreed for the synthesis report. The next meeting of the GFSG will take place in Washington D.C. on April 12, 2016. The GFSG will deliver the synthesis report to the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in advance of their July meeting.
