As President Xi heads back to Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has briefed the media on the Chinese leader`s participation at the APEC meeting in the Philippines and, before that, at the G20 Summit in Turkey.
Wang Yi said the trips were key diplomatic activities by the Chinese president against a new, global political and economic landscape, and they were aimed at building consensus, boosting faith and promoting development. Wang said China`s five principles of development -- innovation, coordination, greenness, openness and sharing -- are trends of world development, and coincide with the themes of the two conventions.
He said President Xi`s speeches at the two events will aid world economic development, give direction for regional cooperation and inject energy into the global economy. He said the speeches enhanced the world`s understanding and faith in China, while having significant influence on regional and global development.
