The "One Belt One Road 100" forum, initiated by Zhao Lei, professor of the Institute of International Strategic Studies under the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, held a full day event, inviting more than 200 experts, as well as enterprises and media representatives.

Zhou Yanli, vice chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Zou Ming, vice president and editor-in-chief of ifeng.com, Zhou Hongbo, deputy editor-in-chief of the Commercial Press, and Cui Xiliang, president of Beijing Language and Culture University, made keynote speeches to discuss the theme of the forum:"One Belt, One Road: from vision to action."

The "Belt and Road" Initiatives are a development strategy and framework proposed by China that focus on connectivity and cooperation among countries primarily in Eurasia, consisting of two main components, the land-based Silk Road Economic Belt and ocean-based "Maritime Silk Road."

The forum was to help implement the early landmark projects of the "Belt and Road" Initiatives as soon as possible, and also aimed at building an intellectual union together.

Zhao pointed out at the forum that theories and practice are both needed during the initialprocess, while experts, government, enterprises and the media are four major elements that cannot be absent. However, currently the resources of the four major elements are just taking shape. If the resources cannot be integrated enough, then they cannot form a major force and exchange with overseas resources. The forum`s initial goal was to avoid the fragments and unitethe major elements, and help them to get effective intellectual support from the think tanks.

More than 30 experts made speeches at the forum.

Wang Wen, executive dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY), said the "Belt and Road" Initiatives would be completed in 35 years. Judging from China`s development, the country may surpass the United States in terms of GDP within five years and surpass the United States in military strength in 10 years. As China may surpass the U.S. in the middle of the century, he indicated a potential global game playing between China and the United States, and the "Belt and Road" Initiative is the most important strategic pillar for China to rise and develop in the next phase.

The "One Belt One Road 100" forum also issued a white paper along with the China Research Center of International Trade and China Chamber of International Commerce of to outline China`s business cooperation with more than 60 countries along the Belt and Road, including an analysis of major export countries, trade approaches, enterprises and products.
