Ambassador of Afghanistan to China: “The Belt and Road Initiative” and Afghanistan

Since the ancient Silk Road established, Afghanistan and China had established very close ties as neighbors. The people of the two countries always had very friendly feelings in peace, understanding, trust and friendship. As an important transportation hub linking Central Asia, South Asia and Western Asia, Afghanistan has great significance in the development of "Belt and Road Initiative". At present, China and Afghanistan have established close cooperation in the political, economic, trade, humanities and other fields, the potential for development is enormous. However, after more than 30 years of war, Afghanistan is also facing severe security challenges, peace reconstruction is difficult and economic situation is quite worrying because of the shortage of “hematopoietic function”. This seminar specially invited Afghan Ambassador to China, Mr. Janan Mosazai, to conduct in-depth analysis of the economic situation in Afghanistan and which the opportunities and challenges involved in the integration of the two sides, as well as the economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Afghan under the framework.

Keynote speaker:

Mr. Janan Mosazai, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to China, graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication, Carlton University, Ottawa, Canada. He served as Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (2014-2016), Spokesman and Director General of Communications, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kabul, Afghanistan (2011-2014). Pashto is his native language. He is also fluent in English and Persian.
