From October 16 to 18, 2020, Vice President Du Peng of Renmin University of China (RUC) led a delegation to visit Zhoucun District, Zibo city, Shandong Province. Du Peng was accompanied by Sha Xiangdong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhoucun District of Zibo, Liu Wei, governor of Zhoucun District of Zibo, Niu Shengyin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry.

The delegation visited Zhoucun Ancient Shopping Mall, Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry, Dachang Silk Co., LTD., and Kaili Silk Co., LTD., etc., and had in-depth exchanges with the local government, schools and enterprises. Located in the hub of Central Shandong, Zhoucun is an old industrial zone and a century-old commercial port. It is the main inheritance and production base of the ancient silk culture of the State of Qi and the main source and distribution center of the Silk Road. The delegation was deeply impressed by Zhoucun's long history, profound cultural heritage and once brilliant business model. Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry's teaching characteristics and industry-university-research advantages in silk-related fields left a deep impression on the delegation, and also provided a research window for related disciplines of RUC.

On the morning of 18th, at the invitation of Zhoucun District government, the Executive Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies and Deputy Dean of Silk Road School at Renmin University of China, Dr. Wang Wen held a lecture for local cadres and business representatives on the topic of "China's financial economy and world situation in the post-epidemic Era".

During this visit, Prof. Du Peng and the accompanying person met part of alumni of RUC from Shandong, and had in-depth exchanges with Wang Hanguagn, Chairman of Hanhai Holding Group; Wei Liangzhu, party secretary of the CPC, Shandong Zaozhuang revenue official; Cheng Qingpu, secretary of CPC of Party School, Boxing county; Du Gang, party secretary of Haode Sinology Culture Industry Co. LTD, Shandong, and gave full recognition and thanks for their contribution to the alma mater.
