In recent years, with the intensification of Trump administration's crackdown on China, the pace of Chinese companies going global has been disrupted. On September 20th, 2020, the seminar on "Sino-US Game and Enterprises Going Global" was successfully held, sponsored by Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China(RDCY) and organized by China-US People-to-People Exchange Research Center (operated by RDCY).

The seminar was chaired by Wang Wen, Executive Dean of RDCY, Executive Director of Sino-US People-to-People Exchange Center, Renmin University of China. He mentioned that the US has stepped up its crackdown on Chinese companies recently, and scholars urgently need to study what the Sino-US game is going on, how to learn lessons from the experiences that Trump's crackdown on China, and what advices that can provide to Chinese companies.

Wu Xiaoqiu, Vice-President of Academic Degrees Committee of Renmin University of China, Director of the China Capital Market Research Institute and Director of China-US People-to-People Exchange Research Center, he believed that China is still pursuing economic globalization, promoting market-oriented reforms and striving to open up wider. In those areas where the US is "stuck in the neck", great efforts should be made to address the weak links so as to enhance the competitiveness of the Chinese economy. At the same time, we should further encourage Chinese enterprises to go global and break through the current difficulties. We do not believe that the world economy will become isolated islands in the future. He also stressed that economic globalization and the expansion of international trade, especially international cooperation based on the comparative advantages of international division of labor, are still a basic trend.

Subsequently, Cui Zhenhai, the Researcher of RDCY released a theme report entitled Assessment of the Impact of the US Crackdown on China in the Past Three Years. The report points out that the essence of the Sino-US conflict is that the US fears China's challenge to its hegemony in the world, while China has always pursued the strategy of peaceful rising and has no intention to replace the U.S. hegemonic position. The conflict between China and the US will continue for a long time.

In the panel discussion section, more than 10 scholars shared their views and had in-depth discussion on the theme of "The US Crackdown on China and Assessment of Economy Impact" and "The Future of Sino-US game and Suggestions for enterprises to go global".
