The seventh Global Think Tank Summit has been held in Beijing. With major changes in international politics, global trade relations, and public health management, think tanks play an important role in the push for Global development. Bi Ran reports.

Economic recovery in the post-pandemic era is sluggish globally. In light of this, topics such as global development, regional cooperation, and public health have been major point of interest at the global think tank summit.

Nearly 50 dignitaries, diplomats and experts, including former Japanese Prime Minster Yasuo Fukuda, former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, and former Australian PM Kevin Rudd, attended the summit virtually.

HUANG KUNMING Head, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee "China is committed to working with other countries to promote development and bring it back to the center of the international agenda, further increase investment in emerging fields, and play our due role in coordinating macro policies among economies."

Experts say although globalization is irreversible, the world needs a more effective framework to overcome the current barriers facing global governance, where multilateralism is still the key to a more inclusive, representative and participatory development.
