RDCY was Selected as Top 100 Think Tanks with Highest Grade A+, Three Major Achievements Receive Top Awards

On December 17, 2022, New Think Tank Governance Forum, hosted by Nanjing University and Jiangsu Academy of Social Sciences, organized by China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University,was held successfully in Nanjing. The forum released the 2022 CTTI Top 100 University Think Tanks list, as well as the best cases and excellent achievements in think tank construction. Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) was ranked A+ in the 2022 CTTI Top 100 university think tanks list, and one of its think tank achievements was selected as a benchmark case, and two books were awarded the Grand Prize for excellent achievements. The forum was attended by more than 700 experts and scholars from national high-end think tanks, think tanks of central ministries, think tanks of "double first-class" universities and other think tanks from China Think Tank Index (CTTI) sources, and focused on "learning and implementing the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, enhancing the capacity of new think tanks to advise and serve the public”. Wang Wen, Executive Dean of RDCY was invited to give a keynote speech. With the theme of "Think Tanks and International Communication after Researching 21 Cities in Russia", Wang introduced the new exploration and model of international communication for Chinese think tanks, namely "official commissioning + university guidance + scholar leadership + in-depth investigation + accurate communication + immediate results". He remarked that Chinese think tanks should go global rapidly at this stage, strengthen field research, update information in time, and understand the actual situation of various countries in the world deeply and accurately.


The forum announced the results of the 2022 CTTI Top 100 university think tanks list. The results of this year's Top 100 university think tanks list are divided into two grades, 40 A+ grade university think tanks and 61 A grade university think tanks. RDCY was ranked on the A+ list.


The forum carried out the promotion of the best cases and excellent achievements of think tank construction. RDCY's "In-depth Research on Russia, Creating a New Mode of International Communication of Think Tanks" was selected as a benchmark case of think tank construction of 2022 CTTI. Two books, "Global Development Initiative: Foreign Perspectives" and "Carbon Neutrality And China's Future", won the Grand Prize for Outstanding Achievements.


From September 2 to October 29, 2022, RDCY Executive Dean Wang Wen visited 21 cities during its 58-day research in Russia, and published more than 30 articles in total, which were reported and reprinted by more than 200 Russian media.

The trip was the first in-depth academic and policy research visit by a Chinese think tank in Russia since the covid epidemic and the Ukraine crisis, which promoted humanistic exchanges between China and Russia, promoted Russian circles to understand better China and the spirit of the 20th National Congress more deeply, and contributed to the development of China-Russia relations in a more healthy and practical direction.

The books that RDCY won the Grand Prize for Outstanding Achievement of 2022 CTTI Think Tank are "Global Development Initiative: Foreign Perspectives" and "Carbon Neutrality And China's Future".

The book Global Development Initiative: Foreign Perspectives was edited by Prof. Wang Yi, Vice President of Renmin University of China, planned and compiled by RDCY and published by Foreign Language Press in November 2022. On November 5, 2022, the 5th Hongqiao International Economic Forum "New Prospects for China and New Opportunities for the World", organized by the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China, was held in Beijing. During this forum, the book was jointly unveiled and released by Prof. Wang Yi and Jiang Peimao, Director of the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Secretary General of the National Council of High-End Think Tanks.


Carbon Neutrality And China's Future is the first book on carbon neutrality from the perspective of the great power game, co-authored by several scholars from RDCY and recommended by renowned experts such as He Yafei, Ma Jun, Li Zheng, Liu Ke and Li Junfeng. The book brings to the readers a reflection on the concept of carbon neutrality and makes more people understand the biggest carbon reduction campaign in China's history, and also tries to tell China's carbon neutrality story to the world. Since its launch, the book has received widespread attention from the public, and has been reported by Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, New York Times, Bloomberg and other global media, with book reviews and key recommendations published.
