This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt andRoad lnitiative. The Green Silk Road plays a crucial role in the high-quality development of this initiative, offering China's solution to global sustainable development challenges. Thisyear also marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-EU Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Byenhancing high-quality cooperation in tackling the climatecrisis, driving green transformation, and fostering a China-EU green partnership, we aim to lead the global movement towards sustainable development. These collaborative effortswill yield numerous benefits for the bilateral relations between China and Europe, as well as contribute to the stable growthof the global economy. To this end, the Chongyang Institutefor Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) invites Ms. lrene Pivetti, Former Speaker of the ltalian Chamberof Deputies, Honorary President of the World Green DesignOrganization, Chairman of the Board of Fondazione ltaliaCina, President of ltaly-China Friendship Association (ICFA), to deliver a speech in Beijing on July 14, 2023, and to discusswith Chinese experts and scholars on topics such as Belt and Road lnitiative, green development, China-EU cooperation and China-ltaly cooperation etc.

Speaker: Irene Pivetti, Former Speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Honorary President of the World Green Design Organization, Chairman of the Board of Fondazione Italia Cina, President of Italy-China Friendship Association (ICFA).
Irene Pivetti graduated from the University of Milan, majoring in contemporary literature and bibliography. She was elected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies in 1992, the youngest female member in Italian history, and served as the Speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, the first female Speaker in Europe from 1994 to 1996, member of the European Parliament, the youngest female member in European history from 2001 to 2008. She works as Board member/supervisor in several enterprises/organizations from 2008 to Now. Pivetti has been advancing actively the implementation of the global sustainable development strategy and the ecology and environment protection projects, and built a dialogue platform and an effective exchange mechanism for Italy and China in various industries of green design.
