China's Diplomacy in the Past Decade

Speaker: Jin Canrong, Professor of School of International Studies, Renmin University of China


Jin Canrong, born in Wuhan on December 26, 1962, originally from Zhejiang Province, was awarded Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars by the Ministry of Education in 2015, and enjoys the State Council Special Allowance. He is currently an A-class Distinguished Professor at Renmin University of China (RUC), a professor at the School of International Studies, a doctoral supervisor in diplomacy, and the director of the Center for China's Foreign Strategic Studies at RUC, as well as the chairman of the China Future Research Association. He is also a member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Vice President of the Pacific Society of China, Distinguished Professor of the Forum of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Adviser of the State Oceanic Administration of PRC, Adviser of public diplomacy for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adviser of the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, Adviser of the United Front Department of CPC Central Committee, Adviser for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of PRC, Adviser for the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, Adviser of economic diplomacy for the Ministry of Commerce, etc. His main research areas are American political system and political culture, American diplomacy, China-US relations and major power relations, and Chinese diplomacy and strategy.
