2022 Global Governance Forum (Spring)
What will the major powers do as COVID-19 ends?
Multiple assessments suggest that 2022 will bring an end to the more than two-year-long COVID-19 pandemic. In retrospect, the trajectory of the rise and fall of great nations is inevitably shaken by the unpredictability of each century-long outbreak of infectious disease. What impact did pandemic have on global politics and the rise and fall of major powers? China's economic development is facing "triple pressure", how to achieve rapid recovery and high-quality development in the post-epidemic era? With the 20th Party Congress to be held, how can China effectively withstand the impact of COVID-19 and what inspiration and lessons can be drawn for its future sustainable rise and national rejuvenation? To address these questions, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY), in cooperation with The Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Renmin University of Chin, is organizing the Spring 2022 Global Governance Forum, inviting a number of renowned experts to participate in the discussion and releasing a think tank research report on the theme of "Epidemics and the Rise and Fall of Great Powers", adapted from an academic paper published in the top journal - Political Science.
