“China and the World at the Time of Great Change” International Symposium  & Former President Danilo Türk’s New Book "A World Transformed - Reflections on the International System, China and Global Development" Online Book Launch

The world is entering a period of turbulent change. How will globalization evolve? What changes are taking place in the West? What is China's role in the future? Danilo Türk, a world-renowned politician, President of the World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid, former President of Slovenia, former President of the UN Security Council and Assistant Secretary-General, has recently published his book "A World Transformed - Reflections on the International System, China and Global Development" in English and Chinese, which has already attracted a lot of attention in Chinese and foreign public opinion.

Since leaving the presidency at the end of 2012, Mr. Türk has continued to work on communication between China and the Western world, and has met with President Xi Jinping on several occasions. In 2015, Mr. Türk was appointed as a Non-resident Senior Fellow of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY), the first foreign former dignitary to join a Chinese think tank on a full-time basis. In 2020, Mr. Türk was elected as the new President of the World Leadership Alliance, which consists of about 100 former presidents and prime ministers of various countries. In recent years, he has written extensively, and his book "A World Transformed" was published in English by Peter Lang, a leading British publisher, and in Chinese by Foreign Language Press. The book brings together his new thinking on global development and China's future, with positive orientation for readers to deepen their understanding of the international system and China's development.
