Seminar on “New Globalization, RCEP and the Future of Chinese Cities”
& Book Launch of “New Situation of China’s Economy and Trade and Local Development -
Taking the Relationship between Yiwu and RCEP/CPTPP as an Example”
2023 marks the first anniversary of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the world's largest free trade agreement. The RCEP promotes economic and trade cooperation among 15 countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand, and a new round of globalization. In this process, the role of cities such as Yiwu - the small commodity capital of the world, is further highlighted.
To this end, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY), together with Zhejiang China Commodities City Group Co., Ltd. conducted a year-long study, resulting in the book “New Situation of China’s Economy and Trade and Local Development - Taking the Relationship between Yiwu and RCEP/CPTPP as an Example” (500,000 words, edited by Wang Wen, Zhao Wenge and Liu Ying), which will be officially published by People's Publishing House on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the 30th anniversary of the founding of Zhejiang China Commodities City Group Co., Ltd.
