On July 11, 2024, Mr. Marcos Galvão, the Brazilian Ambassador to China held a meeting with Professor Wang Wen, Executive Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China(RDCY)in Beijing.
Professor Wang Wen briefly introduced to Ambassador Marcos Galvão the exchanges between RDCY and the former Brazilian Ambassadors to China, Brazilian think tanks and scholars. He emphasized that RDCY has always attached great importance to dialogues and communications with all walks of life in Brazil. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. Brazil will continue to serve as the rotating chair of this year's G20 Summit and the 2025 BRICS Summit. The two sides hope to strengthen exchanges and interactions, carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation on important topics such as global governance, South-South cooperation, sustainable development, and mutual learning among civilizations, and further promote the construction of global and area studies research led by think tanks.
Ambassador Galvão welcomed the visit of RDCY and expressed his willingness to further strengthen exchanges with Renmin University of China.
Leticia Frazao Leme, Economic Counselor and Henrique Towata Sato, Second Secretary of the Economic Department in the Embassy of Brazil to China; Yang Qingqing, Associate Dean of RDCY, and Zhou Wa, Project Manager of the International Department of RDCY, participated in the talks as well.
