Ambassador of Switzerland met RDCY delegation

On July 18, 2024, at the invitation of Ambassador Jürg Burri of Switzerland to China, a delegation of three people from RDCY visited the Embassy of Switzerland. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as China-Switzerland relations, China's economy, international situation, global affairs, and think tank cooperation. Ambassador Jürg Burri had visited RDCY in February this year before this event.


During the exchange, Professor Wang Wen, Executive Dean of RDCY, introduced to Ambassador Burri the achievements of RDCY in promoting think tank-led global and area studies construction, and international exchanges. He shared his pointviews about China's economic development,Chinese modernization, and international prevalent topics that are of concern to the side of Switzerland. Prof. Wang also expressed his position on some key areas, and emphasized to strengthen consensus and deepen cooperation on some global affairs between China and Switzerland.


Ambassador Burri acknowledged the accomplishments made by China, and praised the international influence of RDCY. He went on discussing with Prof. Wang Wen about the opportunities and challenges of China-Switzerland cooperation under the current global conditions. He expressed that China and Switzerland have broad space and potential for cooperation, and he looks forward to further enhancing exchanges and cooperation in the fields such as humanities, and think tanks.


Estelle Vuichard, Deputy Director of the Economic Department of the Embassy of Switzerland; Sebastian Kempf, Attaché of the Political Department; Li Xinpeng, Project Manager of the International Department of RDCY, and Chen Xiuhao, Assistant Researcher of RDCY, participated in the talks as well.
