Lawyer graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). He has served as an advisor to the Vice-Rectorate for Research at PUCP, leading a project to strengthen the university's relations with academic institutions in Asia. He currently heads the Office of Relations with Asia of Institutional Affairs Office He was the founder and first director of the Confucius Institute at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a position he held for 11 years. He also served as coordinator and professor of the Diploma in Asian Studies (specializing in Chinese studies), offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Center for Oriental Studies at PUCP. Additionally, he was a legal advisor in the APEC Office of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR). He co-authored the book "Relations between Peru and China" (2011), published to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
