Aymara Gerdel was named “Public Diplomacy Personality of the Year 2025” by the Public Diplomacy Network. She is currently the director of the Venezuelan Center for Chinese Studies (CVEC), director of the Research Center for a China-Venezuela Community of Shared Future, and professor at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV).  

She is also Executive Director of the Latin American Council of Sinologists at the World Center for Sinology at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), and a member of the International Academic Network for a Shared Future Community promoted by the Institute for a Shared Future Community at China University of Communication (CUC). She is a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the School of Government of the University of International Business and Economics de China (UIBE), and also holds a Master's degree in Economics from the UIBE, a Master's degree in Government and Public Policy from the Faculty of Political and Legal Sciences of the UCV, and a Bachelor's degree in Statistical Sciences from the School of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences of the UCV
