Pablo Ava holds a a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Universidad del Salvador, a Master’s in Law and Economics, anda degree in Political Science from the University of Belgrano, a Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires, from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and. He is currently Professor of Sociology of Law and Institutions at the Faculty of Law, and of Political and Electoral Behavior at the Faculty of Social Science both at the University of Buenos Aires.
His academic work has focused on federalism, having authored several books, including Fiscal Federalism and Subnational Public Financing, Law and Society, and Origins of the Modern Concept of Federalism. He is also co-author of Theories of Human Capital, in University and Social Change, which was awarded by the National Senate.
Dr. Ava serves as Senior Advisor at the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) and as advisor to the National Senate. He has collaborated on projects with international and multilateral credit organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, USAID, the World Bank, and UNESCO.
He has also acted as consultant to several federal government agencies, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Economy. He has served as Representative to the Federal Investment Council and as Parliamentary Secretary of the Economic Committee of the Mercosur Parliament. Additionally, he coordinated the Policy Briefs for the T20/G20 Argentina and participated in the T20 summits in Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
He is a former fellow of Fundación Ortega y Gasset at Spain for the International and Latin American Program, of the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University in Houston and a from the Postdoctoral School on Federalism at University at Innsbruck University and RESEARC.
He has coordinated various large quantitative studies in the areas of public opinion, public policy evaluation, and electoral analysis, such as the Evaluation of the Argentina General Elections Logistics Process, Foreing Policy and International Relations public Opinion and Legal Needs in Argentina.
