Since China put forward the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) on September 1st, the international community has paid close attention to it. Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro stated during his visit to China that Portugal agrees with the important ideas underpinning the Global Governance Initiative, and it stands ready to work with China to safeguard multilateralism and welcomes China's greater contribution to improving the global governance system. Liu Ying, Research Fellow of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, told China News Network that both China and the EU have taken pragmatic measures in advancing multilateralism, and the close cooperation between China and the EU itself is an important action to promote the implementation and effectiveness of the Global Governance Initiative.
