Delegation led by World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan visits RDCY

On June 13, a delegation led by Patchamuthu Illangovan, World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, visited Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China (RDCY). Both sides exchanged their views on the construction of "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" (CPEC) in the context of “Belt and Road”, China-Pakistan relations and other topics.

Zhou Rong, senior fellow of RDCY, Yang Qingqing, director of Research Cooperation Department of RDCY, Xiang Junyong, deputy director of Industrial Research Department, and Yang Fuding, assistant researcher of RDCY, attended the meeting.

 

RDCY expressed a warm welcome to the delegation, briefed research results of RDCY in the areas such as global governance, “Belt and Road” and green finance, and answered questions of the delegates.


Patchamuthu Illangovan said that CPEC, which is of great significance to the development of Pakistan’s economy, will be considered as the largest development project for Pakistan in the coming decades. Pakistan should take advantage of the construction of CPEC to explore Pakistan`s economic development plan in the future.

Both sides also expected to enhance their cooperation on the academic research, personnel exchanges and other aspects, as well as find new chances for the future cooperation.
