Commercial civilization is a vital aspect in the development of China's market economy. Every kind of commercial civilization is deeply rooted in the culture of the nation, and the enterprise culture is the foundation of the new commercial civilization. What kind of social responsibility should enterprises undertake in the new era? On July 22nd, Qin Shuo as a guest to deliver a lecture at Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China (RDCY) and gave an in-depth explanation of the close relationship between commercial civilization and social progress.

First of all, Qin Shuo talked about three ideological trends that influenced him so much.

The first is the enlightenment trend. It is the spirit of contract in the business logic. In other words, every legal person is equal, regardless of the scale of the company.

The second is the awakening of subjectivity. We can witness the germination of Chinese entrepreneurship and the growth of confidence in Chinese-style innovation by looking at the growth of Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent.

The third is how to describe the relationship between business and society. It is widely discussed in recent years that investigation should cover from the "enclosure movement" in the industrial revolution to the environmental responsibility and not limit in financial statement.

Secondly, Qin Shuo introduced the basic commercial civilization framework which centers on on human. From the perspective of micro-subjects, commercial civilization has four points: innovation, code of conduct, cooperation order, and cultural heritage. There are four external factors that influence the development of commercial civilization: institutions and governance, society and culture, natural endowments, and technical facilities.

The reform of China's institutional environment has not yet been fully realized. With comprehensive reform, and there is still a long way to go before the complement of business environment. Because of the “semi-legal rule and half-man rule” resource allocations, multiple market forms has been formed in China, instead of a unified market. A good institutional environment can restrict the expansion of capital power and protect the property rights of capital owners. A good social culture contributes to the healthy and sustainable development of the company, while different natural endowments and technical facilities will also affect the behavior of micro subjects. Nowadays, China has a broad entrepreneurial spirit.

Qin Shuo pointed out that however the direction of Chinese enterprises is still focus on high value and innovation, such as Huawei. All of company of China should pay more attention to research and development, integrity and organizational construction.

In the past, China's commercial civilization and the development of Chinese enterprises have benefited from the resources and conditions by the reform and opening up, as well as the world-scale market, and combined with China's entrepreneurial spirit, these has created China's development. Qin Shuo believes that the future development direction will be quality and efficiency. Enterprises must use world-class standards and norms to build competitiveness and achieve world-class enterprises from world-scale enterprises.

Finally, Qin Shuo pointed out that External factors still need to be improved and optimized, entrepreneurs' sense of responsibility needs to be further improved. It still require a lot of hard work to establish a good interactive relationship between enterprises and society, as well as the formation of real innovation ability of enterprises.

There are still 20-30 years to go before modernization can be basically achieved by 2035 and full rejuvenation can be achieved by 2049.After 20-30 years of hard work, commercial civilization of china and Chinese enterprise innovation can really take on the historic positioning of the revival, let us witness the future development.
