Belt and Road Series

Seven-volume Belt and Road Series made its debut at a launch ceremony in Beijing on Wednesday.

Published in six languages, the book series will be put on display during the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that will be held on May 14 and 15.

The Belt and Road Series was compiled by the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China and published by the Foreign Languages Press.

"Our purpose is to produce a simple set of books to introduce China`s Belt and Road initiative to domestic and overseas readers," Hu Kaimin, deputy editor-in-chief of the Foreign Languages Press, said at the ceremony.

According to Hu, the book series was written in plain style to better illustrate the history, current development and main international collaborations of the B&R initiative.

Taking the different languages used in countries along B&R routes, the series is being published in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic and Korean.

Liu Wei, president of Renmin University of China and also editor-in-chief for the book series, pointed out that B&R construction and development projects over the past three years have progressed beyond expectations.

"We need to spread to more countries and help the people there understand and therefore support the B&R initiative," Liu said.

The Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies numbers among the earliest think tanks dedicated to researching the B&R initiative.

The upcoming Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will be the highest level international conference on the B&R initiative since Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative in 2013.

Organizers have confirmed that 28 heads of state and 1,200 delegates from various countries and regions will attend the conference.
