A report was released at RDCY.
A report done by a leading Chinese think tank has been released in Beijing, reviewing the changes that occurred around the globe last year. It also reviews the prospects for future world development and China`s role as well.
Jia Jinjing, Director of Macro Research Department of RDCY, introduces the report.
The 11-page report, titled The Huge Phase Transformation: Fast-changing world in 2016 and China`s response in 2017, was studied and launched by the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY).
It borrows the notion of "phase transformation" in physics and calls 2016 the "huge phase transformation" era. Taking the United States, Europe, emerging markets and developing countries, Asia, China, and global governance as objects of study, the report explores the profound changes in global patterns in 2016 and puts forward that China will definitely play a leading role in the global governance system in 2017 and beyond.
While introducing the report, Wang Wen, Executive Dean of RDCY, said that the "huge phase transformation" era provides considerable opportunities for China and the New Beijing Consensus.
He explained that the "New Beijing Consensus" is a new type of development consensus, which is different from the previous Beijing Consensus put forward by American scholar Joshua Cooper Ramo in 2004. Based on China`s reform and opening-up experience, the new notion can lead the world in figuring out suitable development approaches against uncertainties.
Founded in 2013, RDCY is a new type of think tank aiming to diagnose financial problems, conduct academic studies and research, and make policy suggestions.
