RDCY Net: The Symposium on the BRI Development in the Post-epidemic Era And Bbelt And Road” Encyclopedia Online Book Launch on the June 17, 2020 was hosted by the Secretariat of the Silk Road Think Tank Association(SRTA) and organized by the Chongyang Institute for Financial studies, Renmin University of China (RDCY), China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCCWS), and International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC). Nearly 20 politicians, officials and scholars at home and abroad participated in the seminar to exchange their opinions and suggestions on the high-qualified construction of BRI with netizens. The moderator is Wang Wen, the executive dean of RDCY.

Liu Wei, president of Renmin University of China and editor-in-chief of the “ Belt and Road" Encyclopedia, mentioned that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has shifted into the stage of high quality. “Belt and Road” Encyclopedia coincides with the timing. In the post-epidemic era, China needs to keep up with the trend of the times and advance the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

Jin Xin, director of CCCWS, IDCPC and SRTA Secretary General, pointed out in his speech that this is an encyclopedia for the Chinese and foreign people. As COVID-19 spreads across the world, the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative will require China to further steadily promote the construction of flagship projects and innovate cooperation methods to open up new space for the development of the BRI and deepen the construction of the BRI.

Chen Yiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Hubei Changjiang Publishing Media Group Co., Ltd., said that "Belt and Road” Encyclopedia is a book which combines of theoretical and practical achievements with three main characteristics, separately authority, groundbreaking, and popularity.

At the book-giving ceremony, Wang Wen, on behalf of the host, present books "Belt and Road”Encyclopedia online to the National Library and libraries of Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law.

On the keynote speech session, Danilo Turk, former president of Slovenia, president of the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid, and senior fellow of RDCY pointed out that the “Belt and Road” Initiative has injected unprecedented energy to international development. It is time to present BRI connectivity in the form of an encyclopedia to public. He personally welcomes the "Belt and Road" Encyclopedia and hopes more success achieved in the construction of "Belt and Road" Initiative.

Zhou Li, the former vice minister of International Department Central Committee of CPC, senior fellow of RDCY, and the director of the China-Russia People-to-people Exchange Research Center, Renmin University of China, rose a new tasks for the theoretical research that how integrate the ongoing “Belt and Road” construction process with whole-level connectivity and double loops between China and overseas.

Zhang Yanling, former Vice President of Bank of China and senior fellow of RDCY, said that the "Belt and Road” Encyclopedia has equipped with a large amount of knowledge, professional, systematic, and practical, reflecting researchers’ practical attitude toward the work of "Belt and Road". As a new type of think tank, RDCY has actively participated and obtained outstanding results through extensive field investigations. Zhang also suggested that the promotion of the book with various foreign language versions shall be started as soon as possible to further expand international influences and tell the "Belt and Road" stories to the world.

On the launch part, Wang Wen, the executive dean of RDCY，released the joint statement and advocated the international community, especially the partner countries of BRI to  objectively understand the era value and international responsibility of BRI and positively eliminate international misunderstanding of BRI.

The Experts Discussion was presided by Jia Jinjing, assistant dean of RDCY. Yu Yunquan, director general, academy of Contemporary China and World studies, Liu Weidong, researcher of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhao Kejin, vice president of the School of Social Sciences, deputy dean of Institute of Global Development,Tsinghua University, and Jiang Yue, dean of Nanjing Shangyuan Academy spoke successively.
