The 2019 "Belt and Road" Forum for International Cooperation will be held in Beijing in late April. In preparation for the coming event, on April 17th, The Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China (RDCY) and the Foreign language Publishing House jointly organized a seminar and launching ceremony of the series book “Five Years of the Belt and Road”.

Zhuang Yumin, dean of School of Finance of RUC and the RDCY, presided over the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Lu Cairong introduced the book series. Published in six languages (Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Russian), The books series reviews the past five years construction of the Belt and Road during which the Initiative has been transformed from concept to action and from vision to reality. The future development of the Belt and Road is promising, he said.
He stressed that the seven-volume “Belt and Road Series”, jointly published by the RDCY and Foreign language Publishing House in 2017, was put on display during the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and was widely praised. This year, the two sides join hands again and certainly will create another brilliance in the upcoming forum.

Reviewing the development of the "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative, President Liu Wei pointed out that the "Belt and Road Initiative" has become an important practical platform for promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
He said that RDCY, as one of the earliest new-style think tanks in China to study the Belt, has contributed to promoting the international cooperation of the Belt and Road for a long time and has conducted the field research in many countries along the Belt and Road. More than a dozen monographs on "Belt and Road Initiative" have been published. He said that the publication of the books series is conducive to the wider dissemination of the concept, progress, significance, and influence of the Belt and Road internationally, and strives for getting greater understanding and support from the international community.

Then, He Yafei, Zhai Dongsheng, and Jin Xin delivered keynote speeches, and Wang Wen, executive dean of the RDCY, presided over the session.

He Yafei said that the "Belt and Road Initiative" is a thought and a Chinese plan put forward by China to solve many problems and challenges facing the globalization. This initiative is based on the practice of China's domestic governance and the accumulation of China's reform and opening up experience. He noted that the initiative embodies our ideological contributions to the innovation of global governance and this book series written by RDCY is worthy to be studied carefully.

Zhai Dongsheng put the focus on how to draw the fine strokes of "Belt and Road Initiative". He said that the development of "Belt and Road" for more than five years has built a good foundation for refining the details of painting the strokes of "Belt and Road Initiative" . He emphasized that in the long run, "High quality, high level, high standards" construction is our solemn commitment to the world.

In his speech, Jin Xin first spoke highly of the book series. He gave some suggestions on how to develop "Belt and Road Initiative" with high quality. it is necessary to apply the new scientific and technological achievements to "Belt and Road Initiative", to mobilize multiple subjects to participate in the construction, to joint hands with the international community to do a good job in industrial cooperation, to strengthen the connection between the construction of "Belt and Road" and the regional development of China's domestic construction, and to tell the story well so as to realize the win-win cooperation in the new era.

After the opening ceremony, two thematic dialogue sessions were held. The first session was moderated by by Zhou Luohua, associate dean of the RDCY, focusing on "Provide Opportunities for the World, Deepen International Cooperation on Belt and Road."
