On March 30, 2021 International Seminar on "Green Recovery in Post-Pandemic Era" was successfully held by the United Nations Association of China in Beijing. More than 120 people including United Nations officials, well-known Chinese and foreign experts and scholars, representatives of universities, research institutions and social organizations participated in the meeting through on-site participation and video connection. Wang Chao, President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Wen, Executive Dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China(RDCY), was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.

Joint-participants were Siddharth Chatterjee, United Nations Coordinator in China; Nikhil Seth, UN Assistant Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research; Dai Fan, Director of California-China Climate Institute at University of California; Zhang Haibin, Vice Dean and Professor of the School of International Studies, Peking University; Tu Ruihe, Head of UN Environment Programme China Office; Hossein Moeini-Meybodi, Chief of the Policy Development and Implementation Section of the UN Forum on Forests Secretariat; Wang Hua, Deputy Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation; Richard Kozul-Wright, Director of Globalization and Development Strategies Division, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development etc.

The seminar focused on topics such as "Global Environmental Governance in Post-Pandemic Era” and "Global Economic Governance in the Post-epidemic Era". Dean Wang Wen commented that facing the challenges brought by the COVID-19 to mankind, the West must take responsibility; Chinese experience must be emphasized; and the United Nations must reconcile. Participants shared that since the outbreak, China has always adhered to the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. While coordinating pandemic prevention and control and economic and social development, China has unswervingly expanded opening up, deepened mutually beneficial cooperation, and spared no effort to maintain the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain, which has made important contributions to the recovery of the world economy.
